This is the second quilt I made for the Persian Rug Challenge as my first quilt was too large for the exhibition of the groups quilts to be shown at a special exhibition in the USA. The rugmakers of Western Afghanistan often use Bargello type designs in their rugs. I completed the quilt with several borders around the central medallion using patterned fabric and foundation piecing.
