Flowers of the New Zealand Bush
2000(100cms x 150cms) (39" x 59") I fussy cut the New Zealand fabric printed with native flowers to fit an original block representing the different flowers. The white clematis is along the top of the quilt with the kowhia blossoms on the left side and the pohutukawa on the right side. The blue of the Chatham Island forget - me - nots and the white of the Mount Cook daisies are towards the base of the quilt. The labels of the plants form the border. The quilt is machine quilted in a fern design and the flowers are highlighted with hand embroidered French knots.
