Summer’s Surprise

Summer’s Surprise

1998 (122cm x 122cm) (48" x 48") I used the three dimensional embellishments on this quilt to represent a view of a garden behind a trellis and a rambling climber encroaching an orderly garden. The flowers are heavily machine embroidered and the centres filled with two kinds of tassels, one of pearl cotton with a beaded tassel in the centre to give a sparkle. There are vines and tendrils as well as leaves on this quilt. The fabrics are cottons.
