Welcome
Welcome to my web page. I am delighted with the design and I hope you will visit the site many times. The design shows a compilation of two of my quilts with Kapiti Island in the background. I live in this area of the lower North Island of New Zealand.
I am a quilter and an embroiderer and enjoyed teaching my own original projects, both in Patchwork and Embroidery. I have recently retired from teaching. I had a "What happens if" policy for the students which means we had a lot of fun and got some great results. I like the addition of embroidery either by hand or machine to my patchwork, I feel it gives an extra dimension to the flat surface. Do visit my Classes page where I have also included an image from each class that I taught and some examples of my students' work.
Inspiration for my work often comes from my garden and the unique landscape of New Zealand.
For several years I was the New Zealand Coordinator for World Quilt, an international competition held in America and run by Mancuso Show Management.
News
- I have just had a retrospective exhibition of my Wheel of Mystery quilts at the Recreation centre in the village where I now live. As a bonus I offered one of the quilts as a raffle prize and the winners chose Blocks of Fun and I am sure their grandchildren will enjoy finding all the different toys and animal in the blocks. The proceeds from the raffle were donated to the Wellington Free Ambulance.
