Blocks of Fun
2005 (37" x 54") ( 94cms x 137cms) "I spy" quilts are very popular in New Zealand, and I thought of combining the blocks with a zigzag sashing to make the blocks look like children's picture blocks. I went through my stash of children's and novelty fabrics and found fabrics that had pictures I could fussy cut. I made the rest of the patches in the block from pale fabrics and used a mid and dark fabric for each side of the sashing. The black and white check inner border and a striped border of the dark solid fabrics into a striped border, finish this quilt. All over quilting in a multicolored thread in different sized loops completed this quilt.
