Waterlilies
1998 (47cms x 73cms) (18.5" x 29") This series began with a three-dimensional embellished quilt featuring proteas. I then moved on to use the same method of a colourwashed background with paper-pieced waterlilies and three-dimensional leaves. The waterlilies are heavily machine embroidered with a variety of threads. The stamens are tassels of pearl cotton.
